A local column by Scott Bond For years, my wife and I have been dog owners. We recently had been taking a break after our two wonderful Shih Tzus, Maddie and Sami, passed away within a year of each other. They were a part of our family for 14 years. They helped us through raising three children, moving to Oregon 11 years ago, several health issues and the arrival of four grandchildren.
